‘Da Kriso (Creatrix)’ represents Kofi Agorsor’s sculptural interpretation of the mythological Ewe and Africanist goddess of creation. Da Kriso’s three-headed figure is conceptually connected to the multitude of figurines that surround her: the singular and multitude, the one that contains all. In the words of Agorsor’s son Gedenpresunpre:
“She stands not alone, but on the grounds of other forces that came before her and exist with her. Her work leans heavily on interdependence and a complex trajectory of mythological history and interactions. But I must clarify—'she’ and ‘her’ are only convenient terms for the universal—that multifaceted creative force, forming and ever forming around various permutations and combinations of the masculine and feminine.”
