We are thrilled to announce that Gideon Appah’s work is featured in the stunning new exhibition Body and Soul at the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection in Paris. The exhibition, which runs until August 25, 2025, invites visitors to explore the eternal and ever-evolving theme of the human body through the works of forty contemporary artists.
As highlighted in Valérie Duponchelle's article for Le Figaro:
"The body is in turn a continent, a color, a reality, a pleasure, a limit or a hope. This is the captivating subject of Body and Soul, a new stroll through the heart of the Pinault Collection at the Bourse de Commerce, which offers a slow dance of bodies by around forty contemporary artists. One such artist is Gideon Appah, whose work blends European influences with post-independence Ghanaian themes in a striking and dreamlike composition."
This exhibition provides a profound exploration of identity, transformation, and the universal experience of the body, with Appah’s work acting as a key entry point into the conversation. His distinctive use of color and his blending of cultural narratives resonate deeply in the context of this powerful show.
We are grateful to Valérie Duponchelle and Le Figaro for recognizing Gideon’s unique contribution to this compelling exhibition and for highlighting his exploration of the body in the context of life, death, and identity.
